The Nielsen Company have released some interesting information about data usage on smartphones.

SD-Booster is an app for root users who wish to boost the speed of data transfer on their Android device.

For those of you who have "sensitive" images which you want no one to see, this app may be for you.

Thanks to MobileFun for sending this out to me Cool Bananas seem to be coming out with many iPad cases which come in many different styles to suit any persons needs.

With the tablet market and mobile phone market booming ASUS have comes out with what looks like killer. It consists of a tablet which has a slot for a phone. When the phone is docked into the tablet the display switching is done dynamically so what you were doing on your phone should go right over to the tablet. Also the tablet itself has a battery inside so it can charge the phone at the same time. Actual specs are not official yet.

Bokeh is the visual quality of the out-of-focus areas of a photo. Here are some great examples of Bokeh.

Thanks to  Cretouch   for sending this iPad 2 leather grip to me. They went through the trouble of sending it all the way from America so be sure visit their store for mobile phone cases. When the iPad 2 was released, Apple also released the Smart Cover. Many people were sceptical over the Smart Cover due to it only protecting the screen, leaving the back completely naked to scratches. Cretouch came out with a leather grip which is supposed to compliment the Smart Cover, covering the back of the iPad 2. The leather grip comes in 8 different colours, the same colours which the Smart Covers come in.

Sony have at last decided to make an official wireless headset for the PlayStation 3. And boy doesn't it look stunning.

It looks as though this is the second company who have now listened to their customers, first being Motorola. HTC CEO, Peter Chou, has now confirmed that HTC phones will come with open bootloaders which will be great for the people who want to fully utilise their Android devices.  Ever since HTC locked their bootloaders to a point where it was nearly impossible to get full root access on newer devices people have been going to different manufacturers like Samsung. One of the great features of Android is that you can replace nearly anything, even the keyboard. Not like iOS where you are stuck with the one they provide. SwiftKey X is a replacement keyboard for your Android device.

Leica camera's really are just the best looking in the world. It's class all over. This particular one, the M8 came out in 2009 and was a limited edition, only 275 were made so it's likely that it is nearly impossible to get hold of one. I just wanted to share the beauty of it.

A very cool video showing a demo of the new Google Wallet. I cannot wait till this thing spreads. In the UK all McDonalds should have NFC payment capability by the end of this summer so it should be cool seeing people pay for their food with their phones. The only problem is there is only one NFC enabled device in the UK and that's the Nexus S.

You will probably have heard of the Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system. It consists of beautiful, highly customisable, flowing interfaces. The home-screen of the OS has unique live tiles which pull information from applications and display them on the screen much like widgets . If you have an Android phone, unfortunately, none of these features are easy to come by.  The WP7Android project was set up to combine the beauty of Windows Phone 7 and the openness of Android to create the best possible user experience. WP7 includes several sleek and stylish stock applications; phone, people, pictures etc. The equivalent applications on the Android OS are nowhere near as beautiful but do have better integration with the cloud- Google's specialty. 

The biggest news provider in the UK, the BBC, have at last come out with an official app for Android.

If you like the idea of shaking your device to answer calls instead of having to slide the slider across the screen you may want to try this app. It enables you to answer and disconnect calls by just shaking your device. You do have to shake it quite vigorously but you can change how vigorously. A situation which I could see this being very useful is in bright day light when looking at the screen can be quite difficult. Instead of having to look for the slider to answer the call you can just shake it, same applies to disconnecting. I have forgotten the number of times I've tapped something other than the sliders because of bright light causing so much glare. Download Link - Market - FREE [ via ]

What you are looking at here is the new WP7 Lockscreen for Android by the devs behind the WP7 Launcher. They plan to bring out 9 applications which copy the aesthetics from Windows Phone 7. Like the actual Windows Phone 7 lockscreen, the device unlocks when you swipe up, sliding the screen up with it, it's a very nice and smooth gesture. There are a still a few bugs, as you can see, there is no "phone" icon by that random looking "0" number on the right side of the screen. This still has not been released but will be made available for everyone soon. There are only a few people testing it and I am one of them. Obviously this will not be for everyone but there are definitely people out there who love the look of WP7 but want the openness of Android, this may be a very good option. New technology plays a huge part in the lives of most Britons. We are all told to buy new amazing products that will change our lives- just like similar products released only weeks before- and make them even easier. Apple is one of the largest companies in the technology industry. They release new products every six months and each is always jumped upon by technology enthusiasts. Unfortunately, this is not because Apple’s technology is notably more advanced than its competitors; it is because they have developed an incredibly strong brand through advertising that which makes the consumer expect and assume the best from them.
