If you like the idea of shaking your device to answer calls instead of having to slide the slider across the screen you may want to try this app. It enables you to answer and disconnect calls by just shaking your device. You do have to shake it quite vigorously but you can change how vigorously.

A situation which I could see this being very useful is in bright day light when looking at the screen can be quite difficult. Instead of having to look for the slider to answer the call you can just shake it, same applies to disconnecting. I have forgotten the number of times I've tapped something other than the sliders because of bright light causing so much glare.
