Does your website or blog look unprofessional due to the lack of a premium domain name? My blog did for many months so attracted very little traffic. I wanted my site to be recognised and viewed so I could build up a community of readers. I knew it would be hard to do this with an ' example.blogspot.com ' domain. I set about finding a free way to make a better website that would be more respectable. Here is what I found:

Adobe has released some information regarding Honeycomb 3.1 in its latest Flash Player 10.2 change log. The log states that Honeycomb 3.1 will feature support for hardware-accelerated, Flash video. This implies more integration between applications and the hardware of tablets may be included in Honeycomb 3.1.

The wallpapers from HTC Sense 3.0 have been extracted and made available for everyone. As we know, we love our wallpapers and anything to do with customization.

There are several Music Tagging applications available for the Android platform- most notably Shazam and SoundHound . My favourite of these applications it Shazam mainly because of its design rather than function. It does fall behind SoundHound in the sense that it cannot identify songs by recording a person humming it etc. SoundHound has this feature and more- check it out for a more functional, but less attractive application.

As you may have heard, the Playstation Network has been down for over a week now because of a cyber attack. Personal and credit card data have been comprised and is now in the hands of these hackers. Derek Gangi created some great awareness posters for the attack.

PCAutoWaker is an Android application that takes the hassle out of pushing one button. If you lead a hectic life- juggling work, family and friends- this application really could help you. PCAutoWaker automatically turns your computer on when you arrive home. If you always use your computer- as most people do- this will save you a lot of time waiting for your computer to boot.

Well look at what we have here! Google have been teasing away through its Nexus S Twitter account about something new coming to the Nexus S, and here it is.

Another advance in Android technology this week: the Joint Battle Command-Platform Handheld (known as the shorter JBC-P Handheld for obvious reasons) is now in the testing phase. It doesn't sound like the name of an ordinary Android smartphone; does it? That's because this model has been developed by the U.S Army around Android software. It is the first Android mobile device to be developed by the U.S Army.

Google has today released version 1.0.4r of Google Docs for Android on the Android Market. This is the first general release of the much anticipated, official application.

Sony announced the release of their two new Android tablets that will be available later this year. The S1 model- the single touchscreen tablet seen on the left- has a 9.4-inch screen. It will be sure to have Sony's reliable build and has a wedge design which Sony claim is more comfortable to hold. The model on the right- the S2- has two touchscreens both measuring 5.5 inches across. It has a curved back, but otherwise is similar to the Nintendo DS. Both devices run Google's Android 3.0 which is designed especially for tablets and both support some exclusive Sony applications. WiFi support is included in both devices- as standard- and 3G or 4G mobile network support is optional. The devices also have infra-red lamps build-in which enables them to control Sony Bravia deviecs. DLNA streaming is also supported by the devices which will allow purchased movies to be played on a television over WiFi, for example.

It all started with one screen! The first touchscreen phones had just one screen. This seemed sensible as all previous phones had one screen- with the exception of a few. For me, the next development seemed to be touchscreen phones with a hard keyboard. This is what started the idea of flip-out touchscreen phones. I guess then, someone thought "Why do we need a hard keyboard? Why not another touchscreen?" After all, we had just left 'button typing'. Well, that explains the dual-touchscreen phones, but how and why did someone decide to think up the three-screened phone in the above video. I guess it's evolution; however, I will be surprised if the new concept make it to the market. This does not mean I don't think it's amazing!

You all know of Google's blogging client, Blogger. Well, the Android application has just been updated to version 1.0.3 which isn't a major update- it only brings a few bug fixes with the in-app browsing- but it does show Google are looking to further improve the application.

Another update for the Twitter application for Android has been released. The new update includes some UI improvements, new features regarding messaging, the addition of font settings and improved speeds when loading profile pictures.

Until today VEVO was only available for the US. Now the service has become available for the UK so now you can watch videos on their website and download the official VEVO android app for all the music video goodness.

The Near-Field-Communication features of the Nexus S may now have a purpose outside of the holy grail of technology- Japan. Rovio Ltd. and Nokia have been working hard to develop an NFC-enabled version of the famous application. Unfortunately, the NFC abilities are not going to be used to create multiplayer gameplay: It is being used to allow the unlocking of extra levels. Two users just have to open the application and touch phones together and the new levels will be unlocked!

Apple have recently been criticised over  the constant tracking of iPhones running iOS4. The 'problem' came to light when two researchers were investigating the iPhone backup files. One found a directory which contained exact location data saved with timestamps. After importing the data to a program, the pair could see the phone's location at any point in time on a map. The phone had been tracked for nine months.

The inspired Social Jogger application found on the Acer Ionica has been extracted from the ROM. Social Jogger is an application which displays the social feeds from Facebook and Twitter. The application has an attractive UI as seen in the screenshot above. The circle seen on the right of the screen can be dragged out to show the application's scrolling abilities. It can scroll at 1x or 2x speeds. On the left of the layout, tabs can be seen. These allow you you to quickly choose what information you'd like to see.

As you probably know, HTC have announced version 3.0 of Sense along with the HTC Sensation phone. Sense 3.0 includes more animations, new gestures, carousel-like homescreen scrolling, new widgets and adapted UI.

With the Galaxy S II only days away from public release, Samsung have made some great ads showing off the device, from software to hardware.

     A clever developer over at the XDA forums has ripped the live wallpapers from the new device and made them compatible with other Android devices.

Today's. I hate how Widget Locker does that to your wallpaper a lot. On the other hand, I'm absolutely loving this setup. I think this might just be my favorite. There are many simple puzzle games available on the Android Market, but I do not believe any are more enjoyable than Spaghetti Marshmallows. Spaghetti Marshmallows is a simple puzzle game, in which you must align several marshmallows with rings in the sky using only spaghetti to hold them together. Let me introduce you to the world of building with food...

Don't you just hate it when you're at work and you need some files on your home computer. Normally you would have to ask someone to email the files to you or make a long trip home, but with Dropbox this is not necessary. Dropbox is a simple solution to using files on multiple devices. To use Dropbox, just install it on your Android phone (and computer) and set up an account. All your files that you choose to share will then be available in your Dropbox which can be accessed from your phone, computer or any other device with a web browser!

Clockr is a minimalist widget which displays the time in a simple way. It is much like Minimalist Text - an application inspired by Clockr and previously discussed on this blog-   and functions similarly. It displays the time in an artistic, easy-to-read way that instantly makes your homescreen more interesting. A donate version of Clockr is also available with extra features- displaying the date. Unlike other similar applications, the developer has focused entirely on the time and date aspect of the widget which does mean it is more reliable as the main function has been focused on,but it does also mean the application does not support other views such as weather or battery percentage.
