Google has today released version 1.0.4r of Google Docs for Android on the Android Market. This is the first general release of the much anticipated, official application.

The application allows all users to access the documents stored in the cloud. It appears to have an outstanding UI with advanced Docs features, possibly exclusive to Google. The creation of documents on the device is supported. Word documents and spreadsheets can be created; the official application includes another brilliant feature. Google Docs can extract text from a picture taken by a phone's camera which can save a lot of time spent copying. Once created, documents can be easily shared with any contact on the phone as well as uploaded to your Docs account.
