BTFON for Android - WiFi Access Everywhere! [UK ONLY]

In the United Kingdom, there are currently no mobile networks which support 4G. Talks and meetings are currently underway and it looks like we will soon have at least some 4G signal in the UK. If you are a BT customer, you may know that you can access BT FON and Openzone hotspots for free.

Until recently, it was quite difficult to log in to these hotspots quickly. Yoyu had to connect to the network, open your browser, navigate the non-mobile-formatted page and finally log in before you could do anything. BT FON for Android- also available on iOS- makes this a much faster and easy experience. With the BT FON application, once you have logged in with your BT account, you can choose to automatically connect to nearby hotspots. There are settings within the application that allow you to enter your credentials etc. From there on in, all you have to do is walk or drive near a network and you'll have free internet access!

The application also allows you to find hotspots near you on an easy easy to navigate map view. This allows you to see both BT FON and Openzone hotspots. In this view the number of hotspots and addresses are displayed so you can easily find and connect to a network.

The Help and Support page of the application is surprisingly helpful! It has all the information you may need to know in clear categories. BT have also created several help videos which they have posted on YouTube to help users.

BT FON is available on the Android Market here. You can also find BT FON on the Market on your Android phone here.
