HTC Glacier details leaked!

Details of HTC's dual-core device, the HTC Glacier have been leaked, with speculation that its release will lead to a 'mobile speed war' in 2011 (bad for phone manufacturers, good for us?).

The HTC Glacier is said to be released by the end of 2010 and is reported to be 3 times faster than the fastest device on the market, speeds which can only be realized with a dual-core processor model.

Qualcomm (processor manufacturer) has been shipping samples of the new Dual-Core Snapdragon processor to its partners (including HTC).

With Google set to release GingerBread (3.0) in October with a 1.0GHz processor as minimum, we are sure to see more beefed up devices being released to meet these requirements.

Both HTC and Motorola have announced they will be using the new dual-core processors by the end of 2010.

But the question remains, on how well the battery will cope with this turbo-speed boost. So let's also hope to see some new battery technology so that we can actually make the most out of these devices.

  1. as hardware advances I believe that intelligent and eye candy design is needed, how are they going to get all that through the business processing at this speed? simply having touch and other multitouch etc etc features isnt enough anymore.
