Coming soon: Charging over WiFi!

Airnergy, a new system from electronics company RCA hopes to make a breakthrough which would make all charging cables and plugs obsolete. Charging a device remotely using WiFi signals.

The first device has already been released, although this still isn't anything special. It is a WiFi Hotspot that charges itself, meaning its battery life will never die as long as it is surrounded by WiFi signals (which doesn't seem to be a problem nowadays).

Although the device works off Wi-Fi signals, considering that the frequency is almost identical to that of a cordless phone, that it is very possible it could use ANY electromagnetic noise to charge from.

What Airnergy hope to do, is to implement this technology into devices such as mobile phones and computers, the result being a device with an everlasting battery, a purchase which I personally, will make.

  2. The device does not emit any new signals, it simply uses what is already available to charge itself, so if cancer was a possibility it would be because of the already existing wifi and phone signals.
