Facebook and Skype Deal
Facebook and Skype have struck a deal, meaning that Facebook users can now call and video chat friends and family across the social network. This deal comes amid rumors of Facebook launching their own phone.
As well as the benefits this will have to the main Facebook web page, the actual Skype application (initially only available for Windows machines) will include a Facebook tab allowing users to interact with and update their Facebook feed, comments, and likes.
Skype for Facebook will take advantage of the Facebook phonebook, which can now be used right on Facebook to call and text friends and family on both landlines and cell phones.
Are there any costs? Not if both you and the person you're calling have Skype, because if that's the case then the call over Facebook is absolutely free!
Are there any nifty new features brought by this deal? Actually, there is, although it is still in beta. Users can try out group video calling.
